PKU Bread (Made With Just 6 Ingredients)
This simple PKU-friendly bread requires minimal effort and only six basic ingredients. Mix, rise, bake - and you’re done!
Ingredients
250 g low-protein flour (I have used Loprofin mix, Mevalia is also good)
1.5 tsp dry yeast
1 tsp salt
1 tsp ground caraway
225 ml warm water
40 ml sunflower oil
Instructions
Combine all the ingredients
Add all dry and wet ingredients into a loaf pan and mix until a smooth dough forms.
Let it rise
Cover and allow the dough to rise for 3 hours, or until visibly increased in volume.
Prepare for baking
The dough is ready when it looks soft, airy, and slightly bubbly on top.
Bake :)
Bake at 180°C for 35 minutes.
Important note: Every oven bakes a bit differently, so the exact time can vary.
Here’s my go-to trick to get a crispy, nicely browned crust:
👉 First, bake for 35 minutes at 180°C (top + bottom heat).
👉 Then switch to fan mode + top heat for 2–3 minutes to finish the crust beautifully.
Finish the loaf
Immediately after baking, brush the loaf with water from all sides.
Wrap it in a kitchen towel and let it rest for 10 minutes to keep the crust soft and the bread moist.
Serve :)
Slice and enjoy as a soft, low-protein everyday bread.
Give it a try and let me know how it turns out! 🥰🍞✨
