Year 2023 - the first step towards reality. A dream that already existed, but still needed a lot of work, time and growth before it could be shared with others..
1. How it all began - Christmas 2023
I remember my husband asking what I wished for Christmas - and I said my wish:
I simply wanted to hold my own PKU Magic cookbook in my hands.
And then they surprised me.
My sister-in-law, who is a graphic designer, quietly gathered all the recipes we had published on the PKU Magic blog at that time and turned them into a book format.
It was a family moment - a spontaneous surprise - and the first tangible proof that this dream could one day become real.
That draft version was only for me.
I wanted to see how many recipes we already had and what they looked like together.
And that’s how the first “draft” version was born.
The recipes were there.
But they weren’t fully refined.
The calculations were not systematic.
It was a private dream - not a finished publication.
And I always knew that if this book was ever released, it would have to be done properly.

2. Between dream and reality or When the dream still had to wait
After sharing the draft version on social media, I saw an absolutely incredible response.
Your messages, questions, and support meant more to me than you can imagine.
It was overwhelming to see that something which started as a personal dream resonated with you as well.
But at that time, I knew I wasn’t ready to give the book the priority it truly deserved. I was working full-time. Life had its own rhythm and responsibilities.
The blog continued to grow.
New recipes were added.
Our community expanded.
And even though the book had to wait, it never disappeared from my heart. It was still my big dream.
I just felt it needed more time to mature. And I knew that when it would finally be published, it had to be created with care, precision, and respect for every single one of you.
It's 2026 now - and where are we today?
I'm no longer dreaming, I'm making it happen! The cookbook is being created for you.
And this year I will bring it to life.

3. Year 2026 - Where are we today?
It is now 2026. This is no longer just a dream.
Most of the recipes have now been professionally recalculated and systematically refined.
Each recipe goes through careful review. Missing details are completed. Portions are adjusted. Every element is refined.
We even have a new logo. :)
The design is being finalized and the book is gradually taking its final shape.
I don’t want to rush anything.
I want it to be done properly.
And when it’s ready, you will be among
the first to know.
4. What our recipes look like today?
The recipes are no longer simply collected from the blog like in the draft version.
Some have undergone significant revisions.
Others were created from scratch - and some haven’t even appeared on the blog yet.
Every recipe has gone through a thorough revision.
In the book you will find:
• protein calculations
• precise phenylalanine values
• energy values
• clearly defined portions
• systematic nutritional summaries
For the professional calculations, I collaborate with our wonderful dietitian Majka from Slovakia, who has long been dedicated to PKU nutrition.
Every value is created responsibly and carefully reviewed. Because with PKU, it’s not only about taste. It’s about safety.
That’s why it´s taking time, but I want you to know that the cookbook is now my priority. I am working on it intensively every day- step by step, with respect for the details and for you all. I want it to reflect what PKU Magic truly stands for.
